We all know of Changi Airport as what it is – an airport. But to some, it is way more than just that. It is a place they share a deep affinity with, and where they found love.
To celebrate their love, we invited three couples back to where it all started – right here in Changi’s terminals, to reminisce their special memories and recreate them. If you’re looking for something to tug at your heartstrings, read on to uncover their Changi love story.
Meet our couples
Faizal and Lintang
Married for four years with a baby girl, Faizal and Lintang’s love story started right here in Changi. The two first met on Tinder when Lintang was swiping on the app while waiting for her flight back home to Jakarta where she lived. With Faizal based in Singapore, the airport became a bittersweet place for the couple’s long-distance relationship as it either meant sad partings or happy reunions back then.
John and Melissa
Our second couple broke the internet in 2014 when their 100 pax flash mob proposal video at Changi Airport made waves on social media. Since they first met on a talent time show 10 years ago, John and Melissa have been happily married for the past eight years. With Changi close to their hearts, they also held their wedding dinner here. To this day, they continue to visit the airport, even bringing their little one on a staycation at the airport’s Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Edwin and JingJing
Following his dream to become a pilot, the airport has always had a special place in Edwin’s heart. This significance grew even stronger when he and Jing Jing took part in the Paradise Shoot @ Terminal 3 in 2007 to celebrate the opening of the new terminal. Till today, the airport continues to be a meaningful place for the couple – it’s where their kids welcome daddy home and they get to spend time together as a family.
