Being the foodies and night owls that we are, Singaporeans are always on the lookout for late-night restaurants and watering holes to have supper at and wind down from a long day of work. The latest addition to the local nightlife scene is Overflow which has set up camp in Changi Airport. Located next to Hub & Spoke, the bar is an extension to the café and shares the same beautiful nature surroundings, making it a cosy and relaxing hideout for some drinks and delicious bites on your night out!
Here are five things to look forward to when visiting Changi Airport’s first alfresco bar with live music.
1. Chill among the stars and greenery
Situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city, chill out and have a drink at Overflow as you enjoy the greenery and cool evening breeze of the outdoors. If you prefer to be near where the music is, indoor and bar counter seating are available too! The warm lighting and striking neon lights from the stage sets the mood for hearty conversations and a good time. Whether you are seated inside or outside, you are sure to get a good view of the music performance to complement your time there!
2. A drink for every occasion
Overflow boasts a good selection of alcoholic drinks that caters to all tastes and preferences. Drinking with your mates? Go for a 3-litre Asahi Beer Tower. Or go for its list of fine wines and spirits, if you’re looking for variety. For the adventurous, look forward to specialty cocktails and Overflow's very own collection of rare spirits that will be available from end-April.
Pro-tip: Head there earlier to enjoy happy hour prices from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with final bar orders by 11:30pm.
3. Bar bites and local delights
It’s almost impossible to drink without having some snacks on the side. Besides the usual Truffle Fries, go for elevated dishes like its Surf & Turf Potato Dippers where crispy potato wedges are served with a luxurious truffle crab meat dip! Not exciting enough? Consider trying some Swalty (sweet and salty) Pork Sliders. They are filled with rich Nutella sauce, sauteéd onions and banana slices – talk about having the best of both worlds!
And soon, you’ll be spoilt for choice with handmade pizzas added to the menu.
Here’s a plus point – If you’re craving for local soul food, order a warm, comforting bowl of laksa or other local delights from its neighbouring Hub & Spoke café! It also carries a variety of Western and Asian mains to satisfy any craving.
