Recognised for its premium and aromatic specialty teas, The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. — Singapore’s oldest family-run tea brand — has officially opened its third and largest outlet yet at Jewel Changi Airport.
You might have seen it around in Jewel before, but this time, it is back with a bigger and upgraded new space. With this opening, the brand now joins the vibrant line-up of food and beverage spots already available at Jewel, giving you yet another café at Jewel and Changi Airport worth a visit!
From state-of-the-art brewing mastery to exclusive menu items, here’s why the brand’s newly opened boutique and tea bar at Jewel is a must-visit.
The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. has been offering premium farm-to-cup specialty teas for over 150 years, priding itself on sourcing only the finest teas from sustainable tea plantations. In line with its commitment to deliver exceptional taste and aroma, the brand also became the first and only specialty tea café in Singapore to utilise the cutting-edge Modbar Tea system. It extracts tea in half the time of traditional tea steeping and brings barista-level brewing precision to tea making.
While this brewing technology is conventionally used for making coffee, The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. has made a new, bold move in integrating it into its specialty teas. Now at its Jewel outlet, you can get front-row views of the brewing process and watch how the staff brew perfectly calibrated tea in seconds right before your eyes!
Of course, not forgetting its selection of handcrafted drinks and food — from modern infusions like the Milk Moon (jasmine osmanthus tea latte) to classics like the local favourite Kaya Toast. If you’re craving something sweet and savoury, you’ll be spoilt for choices with its wide range of snacks, desserts and pastries, including its signature tea cream puffs and scones, to name a few.
Matcha lovers are also in for a treat with its Matcha Affogato and Kaya Matcha (coconut kaya with matcha), with the latter only available at its Jewel outlet so don’t miss out if you’re nearby!
While you are there, why not take the time to also pick up some of its tea tins and teabags at its retail boutique space? You can choose from unique flavour infusions, single-origin teas, and caffeine-free blends, formulated and blended by the brand at its Sri Lanka tea lab. If you’re ever in a rush looking for thoughtful last-minute food-related souvenirs from Singapore, The 1872 Clipper Tea Co.’s teabags could be an option to consider as well.
Beyond delightful sips and bites, the boutique and tea bar joins the ranks of Jewel Changi’s Instagram-worthy cafés perfect for your social media feed. With unlimited natural skylight pouring in throughout the day, it is ideal for capturing those vibrant shots. Don’t miss the striking feature wall, adorned with repurposed tea sacks that once carried teas directly from their origins and proudly bearing the "1872" mark – a unique and picturesque backdrop for your next Instagram-worthy teatime moment.
Wondering how to make your way there? Just follow the signs to Jewel’s Level 1 drop-off point, and you’ll be on your way to an immersive, tea-rrific experience that delights your senses of smell, sight and taste.
