If you're looking at Japan as your next travel destination, don’t sleep on this news! Peach Aviation (the airline, not the fruit!) will be launching a daily service between Singapore and Osaka (Kansai) from 5 December.
As the low-cost arm of All Nippon Airways (ANA), Peach has made a name for itself in Japan for being one of the leading low-cost carriers domestically. Founded in 2011, Peach also flies to international destinations such as China and Korea. Singapore joins Bangkok as the only other medium-haul international route flown by Peach and will be Peach’s longest route to date.
Peach will be the only Japanese carrier operating this route. Other airlines operating this route are Singapore Airlines which operates the route 3x daily using its Boeing 787-10s, and Scoot which operates daily flights using a mix of its Boeing 787-8 and 787-9s. Scoot also occasionally operates the route using its Pokémon Jet, which sports a Pokémon-themed livery and interior.
Peach has chosen to use its newest aircraft, the Airbus A321LR (LR standing for Long Range) on this route. Introduced to Peach’s fleet in 2021, it was the first airline in Japan to operate the Airbus A321LR which promises to deliver 20% more fuel efficiency compared to its predecessor, the A320ceo.
Although smaller in size, Peach’s Airbus A321LR features up to 32” seat-pitch on its seats – more than most low-cost carriers and comparable to full-service carriers! Furthermore, each seat comes equipped with a USB-charging port, allowing you to hit the ground running with your fully charged electronic devices.
Once you land in Osaka, adrenaline junkies can make their way to Universal Studio Japan, which is one of only five Universal theme parks in the world. Don’t forget to pay a visit to Dotonbori, which features a bustling nightlife and diverse shopping options. Looking for something more traditional and laid back? Consider including Osaka Castle and its neighbouring park in your itinerary too.
Should you want to explore other parts of Japan, consider hopping on board one of Peach’s 13 domestic routes departing from Osaka! Peach has flights connecting Osaka to Sapporo, Tokyo (Narita) and Okinawa amongst others, so do consider flying with Peach if you’re looking to visit other cities during your time in Japan.
