Most of Singapore’s famous hotels are located in town, like Marina Bay and Orchard, and within the central business district area, but they aren’t the only places with great hotels. The Changi District is a hot spot for staycations in Singapore, so it goes without saying that there are plenty of great hotels to choose from in the east.

Regardless if you’re looking for a nice place to crash the night during a long transit or spend a long holiday in Singapore, here are some of our favourite hotels near Singapore Changi Airport.

1. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

We’re kicking this list off with the eighth-time winner of the world’s best airport hotel title — Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.

This beautiful hotel is conveniently located at Terminal 3 of Singapore Changi Airport, overlooking its vast runway. Not only do you get to enjoy the views of planes taking off and landing, but you also get to enjoy it from the comfort of your bed or even your bathtub! All guests have access to the hotel’s club lounge, business centre services, gym and outdoor swimming pool.

And that’s still not all – depending on the seasonal offers available, you might even get additional perks such as a massage at Natureland, complimentary access to Changi Airport’s first rock climbing facility Climb@T3, pre-loaded EZ-link cards and more.

Even if you’re only here for a few hours, the Crowne Plaza hotel also has rooms for day use and overnight layovers. Its rooms all come replete with a spacious work desk, high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as a bathroom with a separate bath and rain shower. They also have family rooms in case the little ones in your brood need to catch a rest.

2. YotelAir

Find respite after your flight in YotelAir, boasting cabin-like rooms. Located near Terminal 1, inside Jewel, the hotel is easily accessible once you land.

For a more affordable stay without sacrificing any of the conveniences, YotelAir is the perfect hotel for you.

At first glance, YotelAir looks like a capsule hotel, but it’s much better than that. Think of a first-class suite on the plane, but brought to a posh hotel; that’s basically what its cabins are like. Each capsule comes with a flat-screen TV, an en-suite bathroom (rain shower included), a workstation and, of course, free Wi-Fi. There’s even a fitness centre for those who’d like to get some gains in during their stay.

Perhaps the best part about YotelAir is its extremely convenient location. It’s situated right inside Jewel Changi Airport, near Terminal 1. Jewel is also directly connected to Terminals 2 and 3 via link bridges. You'll not only have access to shops, restaurants and play attractions right at your doorstep, but also convenient transfers right after you land so you can catch a snooze immediately.

The hotel is big on automation, so look out for the little robots that will help you check in or bring you your requested amenities.

A lovely view and an enjoyable time from atop the rooftop swimming pool await you at Park Avenue Changi Hotel, a posh hotel with all the amenities you're after.

Park Avenue Changi Hotel isn’t located within the airport district itself, but it’s positioned near the airport (just 10 minutes away) while staying connected to town through two MRT lines.

Like all great full-service hotels, Park Avenue Changi Hotel includes a gym and swimming pool within its premises (both located on the rooftop!) and even offers laundry, dry cleaning and ironing services. Basically, you can sit back and be pampered without having to lift a finger at all.

Thanks to its proximity to Changi City Point shopping centre, there’s no shortage of dining and shopping options too. There are local specialities, international cuisines, popular brands’ factory outlets, and so much more.

You wouldn’t even feel the need to head into town anymore. Plus, with convenient duty-free shopping online via iShopChangi, carting out from the comfort of your hotel room is a breeze. Picking up your goodies before you fly off is even more convenient!

4. Capri by Fraser Changi City

Another hotel nearby is Capri by Fraser Changi City, this time conveniently located within the Changi business district, perfect for all savvy business travellers. It’s within walking distance of Changi City Point, Singapore Expo and Expo MRT station. And it's near the airport too. Getting to the airport is just a quick 5-minute drive away via the hotel’s free shuttle bus service.

Each of the studio apartments comes with complete facilities. This includes a remote working station, kitchenette and entertainment systems. Facilities include not just a 24-hour gym, swimming pool and a jacuzzi, but also bicycles on loan for exploring the neighbourhood.

Though Capri by Fraser Changi City is mainly targeted towards business travellers, the full suite of amenities makes it a popular choice among families looking to enjoy a staycation too. Even laundry is made fun here—there’s a laundry facility with arcade-like games to entertain the kids while the clothes go round and round. If you're after a unique and amazing experience, this one's right up your alley.

5. Village Hotel Changi

That’s a view you don’t get everyday! Revel in scenic views from the rooftop pool at Village Hotel Changi. Catch planes heading to or from the nearby airport, or spot Pulau Ubin and Pulau Tekong.

For something closer to the big outdoors (the beach), there’s the nearby Village Hotel Changi. It’s situated along Changi Beach Park, with not just rooms, but also a rooftop infinity swimming pool and jacuzzi that overlooks the South China Sea. Of course, you can also catch planes mid-air to or from the airport.

As much as we love to laugh at the whole “I feel like a tourist in my own country”, Village Hotel Changi makes you feel as though you’ve been transported elsewhere. Maybe it’s something to do with the fact that you can actually see Pulau Ubin and Pulau Tekong from the hotel. It’s a quick 10-minute walk to the ferry if you want to visit Pulau Ubin too.

Despite the remote location, there’s no shortage of good food (Saltwater Cafe, cafes and even a hawker centre) and things to do (gyms, massages and cycling) around the area.

For those bringing their kids along, you’d be glad to know that one child under 12 years of age gets to stay free with their parents/guardians.

And when time permits, explore the wider Changi Village with our guide!

Changi Airport Transit Hotels

6. Aerotel

For a short stay, or for those who prefer not to pass through immigration or wait in transit lounges for a couple of hours, transit hotels like Aerotel are a godsend.

This is the world’s first and only transit hotel that comes with an outdoor pool

Here, you get to sleep, stay, dine and drink in comfort without having to worry about passing through immigration at all. Who knew layovers could be this luxurious? There’s nothing quite like the experience of watching planes soar overhead while you’re lounging in the pool, a glass of margarita or mojito in hand. And let's not forget other nice facilities within reach, like Wi-Fi. If you’d like, you could even take a soak in the jacuzzi to work those sore travel muscles.

One of the greatest things about Aerotel is that they have flexible check-in and check-out timings too, so that’s instant comfort the moment you get off the plane!

Address: Above Gate D40, Level 3, Departure/Transit Area, Terminal 1 Singapore Changi Airport, 819642

7. Ambassador Transit Hotel

Another hotel within the transit area is Ambassador Transit Hotel, the same one behind those comfortable transit lounges in Changi Airport's Terminals 2 and 3.

No bells and whistles within the rooms, but it’s not like you’ll need them. The rooms have everything you’d need for a great stay: aromatherapy, ensuite bathrooms, flat-screen television and a little tea and coffee station. Most importantly, the rooms are really quiet, no thin walls here! For parents travelling with children, you’ll also be pleased to know that kids under the age of 6 get to enter for free.

The hotel also provides other services such as haircuts, manicures and pedicures, and massages. They also come with gyms right next to their club lounges, for anyone who wants to work out some muscles while in transit.

You can also book rooms for short periods. They start at six hours and you can add on hour by hour as you wish. The rooms tend to get booked up fast, so best to make an early booking online.
