There’re many facets of Singapore which make it an ideal and thrilling destination for locals and tourists alike. But here, the fun doesn’t end once the sun sets.

Singapore nightlife is one you must experience–whether it’s getting a pint at the local craft brewery, losing yourself in a hidden bar with live music, or venturing into Singapore’s night time with a different kind of walking tour. Here’s where you can find the best night spots in Singapore.

For a night out drinking

1. Rooftop bars

Singapore may be a small island, but we certainly do not lack beautiful views—especially ones that are breathtaking in their panoramic glory. Enjoy a serene view paired nicely with a delicious cocktail at three of the many rooftop bars in Singapore.

Potato Head Singapore: Seminyak F&B brand Potato Head is best known for its seaside vibes in Bali. But at Potato Head Singapore, the concrete jungle of Singapore’s Central Business District turns into a tropical paradise.

Its rooftop bar at Keong Saik Road is arguably the centrepiece of the nightlife district, with vibrant cocktails, delectable food, and views that show the sunset over the city skyline.

The Cider Pit: One nightlife hotspot that will lead you to a vibrant Singaporean neighbourhood is The Cider Pit, situated along Joo Chiat Road.

Here, not only would you get to try an array of exotic craft beers, ciders, and wines—but you can ask the bartenders for recommendations that would suit your taste profile best. Some of the most beloved ciders on tap are the range of Westons ciders imported directly from the UK.

Smith Street Taps: Unlike most of these entries which are found in swanky spaces, you can find Smith Street Taps at a hawker centre. But not just any hawker centre—it’s Chinatown Complex, a hotspot for some of the best food you can ’ll find in the country.

And, suitably, Smith Street Taps is where you’ll find some of the best craft beers too. Its menu rotates every season, so regular patrons will always have something different to look forward to. 3. Music hotspots

If you're looking for a bar with a lively atmosphere and great music, these places are where you should be if you want nothing but the best.

RPM by Bespoke: In Japan, a league of nightlife places have become immensely popular over the years, where they are favoured for their warm ambience, a curated music selection, and, of course, amazing drinks.

These are unofficially known as ‘audiophile bars’. In Singapore, we have RPM by Bespoke, a place worth settling into once the sun sets with its premium selection of cocktails, sake, shochus, and craft beers. If you know of Swee Lee, consider this its night version.

Overflow: Sometimes exploring the fringes of Singapore can be a nice change of scenery. In this case, it’s a hidden bar at none other than Changi Airport itself, nestled next to a garden near Terminal 2.

While Overflow may be a destination far from the comforts of the city, it is situated at Changi Airport, where there’s simply too much to do even if you’re not flying. It’s a place with a regular rotation of live music performances ranging from mandopop to cantopop and, here’s the kicker, entirely pet-friendly. For a night out exploring

4. Night Safari Singapore

This year, Night Safari Singapore celebrates 30 years of opening its doors after dark.

Since its official launch, the nocturnal zoo has welcomed millions of people into its wildlife habitats, offering a look into how animals live in darkness. The highlight of Night Safari is the 40-minute guided tram ride through six geographical zones, including the Himalayan Foothills and Equatorial Africa.

Through here, you'll encounter various nocturnal animals like Tasmanian devil, fishing cat, grey-handed night monkey, and sloth bear in their naturalistic habitats. There are four walking trails—Fishing Cat Trail, Leopard Trail, East Lodge Trail, and Wallaby Trail. Each trail offers close encounters with different nocturnal animals such as leopards, fishing cats, and wallabies.

Be sure to catch the Creatures of the Night Show, which features various nocturnal animals demonstrating their natural behaviours in front of a live audience.

You can choose either the tram ride or the walking trails—and, yes, both are totally safe and each worth exploring in its entirety. It’s so safe you could even consider letting the kids stay up for a night adventure for once.

Address: 80 Mandai Lake Rd, Singapore 729826
Opening hours: 7:15pm-12:00am midnight, daily.
Tickets: Book here.

5. The Creepy Tales of Singapore tour

For Singaporeans, ghost stories are as essential to our culture as any delicacy. Growing up, we’d hear old tales about long-haired women trawling through deserted neighbourhood parks, smells of jasmine, or the undead roaming the dark corners of our corridors.

However, the paranormal haunts Singapore beyond our HDB estates. This is where the ‘Creepy Tales Of Singapore’ tour comes in—an exhilarating experience perfect for thrill-seekers and history buffs alike.

It’s a four-hour tour comprising slices of Singapore's dark history and urban legends. Here, you'll explore haunted sites with ghost-hunting equipment, hear chilling World War II stories, and visit eerie locations—for one, a secluded hill rumoured to be a wartime execution site, a haunted coastal gun battery, along with one of the world's largest Chinese cemeteries.

The tour will provide candles, torches, transport, and a guide to walk you through it all. Truly not for the faint of heart, but it will reward the most adventurous of spirits!

Address: Haw Par Villa MRT, Exit A (tour meet-up point)
Duration: 7:30pm-11:30pm every Friday and Sunday.
Tickets: Book here.

What we’ve covered is just the tip of the iceberg of Singapore’s nightlife scene. Singapore is itself a 24-hour playground, but its night scene also offers a wide variety of activities that are worth exploring. Don’t forget to plan ahead so you don’t lose out on sleep! Have fun.
