These days, everything seems to exist in your phone’s camera roll. Yet, nothing can quite beat the sensorial tangibilities of holding a snapshot of a moment in time right in your hand. Dotted all around the city, and even tucked away right in the Jewel Changi Airport itself, travellers will have their pick of photo booths and self-photo studios to capture their memories with family, friends, and loved ones.

From the classic photo booths to squeeze yourself into, to kitted-out self-photo studios with a range of props and costumes for that unique snapshot, here are some awesome spots to immortalise your Singapore moment. As a bonus, you’ll be getting the quality of a professional shoot at a fraction of the price of hiring an experienced photographer!

1. Dollop Automat Studio

For those looking for freedom to craft their photo booth experience at every stage, Dollop Automat Studio is the perfect spot for you. If you’ve seen those aesthetic Korean self-photo studio photo strips, you already know what to expect.

Opt from light or dark prints, and even have the choice of having your photos in full technicolour or timeless black and white. When it’s your turn, just press the shutter button in your hand to capture your best poses.

Book your slots ahead of time and make sure to arrive at least 10 minutes earlier than your slot to run through a quick briefing by the studio’s assistants. That, and so there’s enough time to cool off from the humid Singapore weather so you’re photo-ready.

Cost: S$30 for two pax, unlimited shots within 15-minute session slots (complimentary plastic sleeves for your photos included)
Address: #02-21 Bras Basah Complex, 231 Bain Street, Singapore 180231

3. Solace Studios

Tucked away in a quaint corner of the bustling Haji Lane, Solace Studios is a minimalist self-photography studio that packs a maximalist punch with what they offer.

They have themed photo booths, modelled after Changi Airport and our MRT stations! There are more than just the regular straight-on angles available— try fish eye, and low angle, which are popular among the Gen Zs. Talk about unique flairs. Solace Studios is also one of the very few fur-baby-inclusive self-photography studios in Singapore.

Need a bit of touch-up before you strike a pose? The studio has complimentary styling tools like hair dryers and straighteners to help you look your best. Choose from their wide variety of hairbands and funky sunglasses, think of your poses, smile and snap away.

(Psst, make the most of your visit to Haji Lane with a stop in one of Singapore’s many cat and dog cafes!)

Cost: S$10 for 2 strips of 4 photos
Address: 30 Haji Lane, #01-00, Singapore 189223

4. Life4Cut

Visitors to Life4Cut’s self-photo studio can choose from multiple locations—Suntec City, Bugis Junction, Jurong Point, and Plaza Singapura—depending on their preferences. Some outlets have larger rooms to accommodate a bigger group.

Life4Cut is a mecca for K-pop enthusiasts who have come from far and wide to bask in the glow of their studio lighting and bright and colourful backdrops, and have their pick of the trendiest costumes plus a variety of snazzy props and accessories.

Keep your eyes on their socials because there may be limited-edition K-pop-themed frames that allow you to pose alongside your biases. Previous groups featured here have included Tomorrow x Together, Twice, and Seventeen.

Cost: Basic package prices for 2 copies start at S$10 and include digital copies and gifs of your candid moments
Address: They have locations in Suntec, Bugis Junction, Jurong Point, and Plaza Singapura

5. Fotoautomat

Take a spin in Singapore’s only photochemical booth for a blast from the past. Refurbished and specially flown in from the United States, this 40-year-old Fotoautomat is a special treat for vintage photo booth lovers or lovers of vintage things.

What makes the photos taken here unique is the way it is how it is developed. Each photo taken is exposed directly onto a film strip, frame by frame as it is taken. It takes 4 minutes to fully develop the film strip as it goes through a process called dip and dunk, where the strip goes through a series of chemical washes right inside the machine.

There are no frills or fuss with Fotoautomat – what you see is what you get. They only print in black and white, so while you’re hanging around waiting for your film strip, why not check out the surrounding deco of The Projector and maybe see what’s showing?

Cost: S$4 per strip, and it only accepts S$1 coins
Address: The Projector, 6001 Beach Road, #05-00, Golden Mile Tower Singapore 199589

6. National Museum of Singapore Photo Booth

One of the most budget-friendly photo booths in Singapore, the photo booth at the National Museum of Singapore is a cute way to remember your time in this hallowed institution. (And it’s just a short bus ride from Orchard Road too!)

There aren’t any props for you to use, but you can opt for the filters and effects to help jazz up your pictures. The booth itself comfortably fits two, but if you’re willing to squeeze, three is doable.

This photo booth only accepts 2-dollar notes, so remember to come prepared. You can even add another S$2 for a video recording of your time in the booth, for a moving memento to remember your visit to the museum.

Keep your eyes peeled because from time to time, the booth will be decked out in a themed decoration like how it was for the museum’s Doraemon Exhibition back in 2022.

Cost: From S$2 per photo
Address: 93 Stamford Rd, Singapore 178897

7. Photomatic

If nothing else, the self-photo studio Photomatic has probably come on your FYPs for the iconic Squid Games-inspired red and green tracksuits that they offer for dressing up in.

Playing dress up is a breeze when you’ve got dozens of costume and accessory choices to pick from. There are even five different colour-schemed rooms from simple backgrounds to funky neon lighting to set the mood for your shoot.

You’ll only need to click the button on the handheld remote control when you’re ready, and you’re all set! When you’re satisfied, select your favourite shots and retouch your photo prints with some simple digital design tools, and you’ll have your picture-perfect moment to carry with you in no time.

Cost: Prices start at S$20 for 2pax with extra fees for add-ons like digital copies
Address: Funan, 107 North Bridge Road, #02-11, Singapore 179105

Whether commemorating a moment in time, or finding something to take home as a unique souvenir from Singapore, or even if it’s just a want to relive a bit of nostalgia, a photograph is a record of where you have been. And now, you don’t even need your own expensive camera lenses or professional photography equipment to get a studio-ready snap!

So, snap away and capture all your moments at these photo booths in Singapore near you!
