Come March 2025, Singapore will unveil Rainforest Wild Asia at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a groundbreaking attraction that merges the enchanting allure of an Asian rainforest with the excitement of adventure-based exploration. This innovative and unique park promises a captivating experience for both locals and tourists, showcasing the vibrant beauty and thrill of nature in one remarkable destination.
Asia’s first adventure-based zoological park in Singapore
Rainforest Wild Asia distinguishes itself as Asia’s first adventure-based zoological park. It invites guests to step into a living rainforest, choosing their own path among the lush foliage.
The park caters to every type of explorer, from those who prefer leisurely strolls to adrenaline junkies seeking heart-pounding adventures. Elevated walkways provide easy access to all, while rugged trails offer an invigorating experience for those looking to push their limits. They can also purchase harnessed experiences and sign up for guided tours offering high-element traverses across rock faces, freefall jumps and challenging caving adventures.
Making every visit a unique discovery experience
The Rainforest Wildlife Asia will be home to 29 iconic animal species, each residing in stimulating habitats designed to encourage natural behaviours. Visitors might spot the elusive Malayan tiger cooling off in a stream or catch a glimpse of the rare François’ langur swinging through the trees. And keep an eye out for the playful Philippine spotted deer, known for their distinctive markings. These spontaneous encounters make each visit unique and memorable.
10 distinct zones inspired by Southeast Asia’s rainforests
In recreating the rainforest setting, close to 7,000 Southeast Asian trees and shrubs have been planted to supplement the existing protected patches of rainforest.
Beyond the thrills and beauty, Rainforest Wild Asia is deeply committed to conservation and education. At this rainforest park, you'll experience incredible wildlife firsthand! And as visitors traverse the park’s 10 distinct zones, they will also learn about the vital role rainforests play in our ecosystem.
An immersive, multi-layered forest adventure made accessible for all
The park’s design ensures that families, elderly visitors, and individuals with mobility challenges can all immerse themselves in the wonders of the rainforest. Wide, sheltered walkways ensure comfort, while adventurous add-ons such as the Canopy Jump provide thrills for the daring.
Another standout feature is The Cavern, drawing inspiration from Sarawak’s renowned Mulu Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for being one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most complex cave systems. In partnership with the Sarawak Forestry Department, the design team meticulously scanned the rock structures of the Mulu Caves, accurately replicating these ancient formations developed over millions of years. Visitors have the option to progress along safe and engaging subterranean walkways or take on more daring routes to discover cave species like racer snakes and giant black scorpions.
With the excitement mounting for its grand opening, Rainforest Wild Asia is set to become a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists alike. Additionally, Mandai Wildlife Reserve is poised to reveal its next chapter: Rainforest Wild Africa, offering even more unique experiences to look forward to.
