What is the Singapore Tourist Pass?
The Singapore Tourist Pass (STP) is a special travel card that offers unlimited travel on Singapore’s MRT, LRT, and bus services at affordable prices.
Available in 1-day (S$17), 2-day (S$24), and 3-day (S$29) options, the STP is designed to provide tourists with an easy and economical way to get around the city for up to three consecutive days.
With the STP, you can hop on and off public transport as much as you like, making it a perfect companion for your Singapore adventure. There’s also the Singapore Tourist Pass Plus (S$48) bundle that comes with exclusive offers—as we’ll cover below!
Benefits of using the Singapore Tourist Pass
Cost-effectiveness
The Singapore Tourist Pass offers great value for money, especially if you plan to explore various parts of the city.
Compare the cost of the STP to single trip tickets or other travel cards, and you’ll see how much you can save. A single MRT, LRT or bus ride in Singapore can cost you between S$1 to around S$2.20; plus if you buy the EZ-Link card instead you’ll have to pay a non-refundable S$5 deposit.
With the STP, you don’t have to worry about deposit costs or top ups —making it more convenient for tourists who want to make the most of their time in Singapore.
Convenience and efficiency
Forget the hassle of buying multiple tickets or figuring out fare calculations! The Singapore Tourist Pass simplifies your travel, letting you focus on enjoying your trip. With unlimited travel, you can easily explore Singapore’s top attractions without worrying about running out of tickets or cash.
How and where to purchase the Singapore Tourist Pass
Wondering where to buy the Singapore Tourist Pass? You can get your hands on one at major MRT stations like Changi Airport, Orchard, and Chinatown, as well as selected TransitLink Ticket Offices. It’s super convenient and takes just minutes to purchase.
Prefer to plan ahead? You can also purchase the STP online before your trip. Simply order it from the official website, and pick it up at selected locations when you arrive in Singapore. It’s that easy!
You can even purchase the Singapore Tourist Pass Plus ahead of time on Changi Recommends, which includes the STP, 1-hour free Xplore walking tour, a limited edition postcard set, and S$5 credit off Changi Travel Concierge services, and collect it at Changi Airport upon arrival in Singapore.
What’s the difference between the Singapore Tourist Pass and EZ-Link?
Still wondering what’s the difference between the Singapore Tourist Pass vs. EZ-Link card, and which one suits your travel plans best?
While both offer access to public transport, the STP is specifically designed for tourists with unlimited travel for a set number of days, whereas the EZ-Link card is a stored-value card suitable for longer stays and residents.
To pick the right pass for you, consider the length of your stay (i.e. are you staying for 3 days or less, or 4 days or more?) and your travel plans.
If you’re only in Singapore for a short visit and plan to travel extensively, the STP is your best bet. For longer stays of 4 days or more or less frequent travel, an EZ-Link card might be more suitable.
Must-visit places with the Singapore Tourist Pass
With your Singapore Tourist Pass in hand, you can easily visit Singapore’s top attractions that are directly connected to an MRT station or are served by Singapore’s public bus network. Some must-visit places the STP can help you get to include, and their respective MRT lines:

Tips for using the Singapore Tourist Pass
Before we end, here are some quick tips to help you get the best out of your Singapore Tourist Pass:
- Plan your travel routes and take note of any MRT, LRT, or bus transfers you’ll have to make during your transit.
- Visit attractions during off-peak hours, if possible, to avoid the crowds.
- Try to avoid taking public transport at peak hours (6.30AM-9.00AM and 5.00PM-7.00PM) to avoid the pre- and post-work crowds.
- Don’t forget to tap in and out correctly at MRT stations and buses to ensure a smooth journey.
- To activate your STP, just tap the card at the fare gate of any MRT station or when boarding a bus, and it will be activated automatically.
- If you lose your STP, report it immediately to any TransitLink Ticket Office. Unfortunately, lost passes cannot be replaced, so you will need to purchase a new one.
- As the STP only lasts up to 3 days (depending on the specific pass purchased) and cannot be topped up, do plan your usage accordingly. If you need more travel days, you will need to purchase a new pass, or you can consider using an EZ-Link card from the get go.
So, is the Singapore Tourist Pass worth it? We think so! It’s more than just a travel card—it’s your gateway to discovering all that Singapore has to offer. With the convenience of unlimited travel and the ease of use, the STP ensures that your trip is as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveller, the STP is the perfect tool to enhance your Singapore experience. So grab your pass, hop on an MRT, and start exploring!
