1. Jewel Double Rewards (Changi Rewards + CapitaStar)

With 17 shopping malls to its name, CapitaStar is a prominent loyalty programme to latch on to. But did you know it’s made even better with the Jewel Double Rewards programme? In short, this membership adopts a Spend Once, Earn Twice model where shoppers get to earn both Changi Rewards points (more about this below) and CapitaStar STAR$ (also more below) at one go when you shop, dine and play at Jewel Changi Airport.

All you have to do is to link your Changi Rewards and CapitaStar accounts. Check out how you can link both your accounts to earn maximum benefits here. Double Rewards shoppers who are Changi Rewards Platinum members can receive up to 3.5% cashback rebate on their spend – the highest in any mall in Singapore.

This makes great sense for those who frequent Jewel, whether it is to shop at the multitude of brands there, or dine at the best Instagram-worthy restaurants or even play at the attractions on Level 5. So, why not spend a day at Jewel with your loved ones today?

eCapitaVoucher is accepted at Jewel and Changi Rewards e-Voucher Flexi is accepted at both Changi Airport and Jewel. Redeem them with your CapitaStar STAR$® or Changi Rewards points and use them at participating outlets to offset your purchases! 

To earn the double rewards, link both your Changi Rewards and CapitaStar accounts and simply scan your Changi Rewards e-card via the iChangi App at the point of purchase. Another rewards and loyalty programme to note would be none other than Changi Rewards! This is one where you’d get points for dining or purchasing items from Changi Airport’s terminals, Jewel, as well as iShopChangi and Changi Eats. Membership is available at three-tiers (member, gold and platinum).  

Benefits for the different membership tiers include perpetual GST absorption Changi’s outlets at the public areas, shopping rebates, and free parking among many others. At the platinum tier, you’d even get complimentary access to the airport lounge—a tranquil environment with high-speed internet connectivity and ample charging points to relax or work in. For your birthday month, you get a Changi Rewards special premium for just a S$10 spend.

Ultimate perk of shopping in Changi Airport? Tax-free purchases without the need to travel! In addition to GST absorption for purchases at the terminals every day, Changi Airport runs 2xGST absorption campaigns several times a year, do look out for them. 

Pro-tip: 2xGST absorption means that that box of bird’s nests gets reduced from S$107 to S$93. You don’t get this kind of savings in other malls in Singapore. Really useful for big ticket items like tonics and electronic items. 

There’s much more to what your points can do based on their wide rewards catalogue—redeem a free ticket to the Changi Experience Studio or Changi Rewards e-Vouchers for participating outlets at Changi Airport. Even better, take part in Changi Rewards Sure-win game, where you’ll get bonus points or premium gifts with every transaction of S$30 nett spend and more. 

Changi Airport has also recently introduced an e-wallet to its rewards programmes, called Changi Pay. Located in the iChangi app, it automatically rewards Changi Rewards points if you link it to the e-wallet. 

When you make payments at stores in both Changi Airport and Jewel using Changi Pay, Changi Rewards points are automatically credited to your account – convenience in just one action. This applies for Jewel Double Rewards as well –- so you earn both Changi Rewards points and CapitaStar STAR$®. Store vouchers are also regularly dropped into Changi Pay – simply save them and redeem them at the point of payment. Register for Changi Pay in the iChangi app if you haven’t already done so, to enjoy multiple rewards in one single e-wallet.

3. CapitaStar

Arguably the most visible, it is the CapitaStar rewards and loyalty programme by CapitaLand Malls. With 17 malls in Singapore under its name, CapitaStar might just be the most developed mall rewards ecosystem. 

To reap the rewards of the CapitaStar, you will have to download the CapitaStar app, sign up for an account to start earning points, or STAR$®. Snap a photo of your receipts when you shop and dine at CapitaLand Malls within the app, and voila - you’re on your way to member privileges like eCapitaVouchers. 

Members can even convert their KrisFlyer or Grab points to STAR$®. This could be helpful depending on what your priorities are. Don’t plan to fly or take a Grab anytime soon? Convert those points into STAR$® for a shopping voucher instead.

4. Frasers Experience (FRx)

With more than 10 participating malls in Singapore, Frasers Experience (FRx) is another rewards and loyalty programme you should pay attention to. While FRx, which is also accessible via their app, may not have that many third-party partnerships compared to CapitaStar, they’re part of the STACK rewards platform powered by OCBC Bank. This means that you can get additional benefits by converting FRx points to points or rewards from other participating rewards programmes like OCBC$ Rewards, Great Eastern Rewards and more, if you’re a STACK user.

One tip for those looking to opt for this programme—head out shopping in one of their listed malls during your birthday period. You’ll get 2x points on all transactions during that month! That’s unlike programmes like CapitaStar and ShopFarEast, where you’ll get 2x points for only the first receipt you upload during your birthday month. To redeem FRx points, simply go on the FRx app or visit the Customer Service Counter of any participating malls in Singapore.

 

Minimum spend in a single receipt to earn rewards: S$10

Earn rate: 

• Earn up to 500 FRx points daily at over 2,000 participating stores

• Earn 10 FRx points (2 FRx points for supermarket purchases) with every S$10 spent

Birthday perks: Enjoy double points during your birthday month. Note that the earning of bonus points is capped at 500 daily for each member.

5. Lendlease Plus

With just four shopping malls to its name, next on the list is Lendlease Plus, which also comes in the form of an app. Due to the small number of participating malls in Singapore, their rewards catalogue is slightly more limited. Still, being a member of this programme can be worthwhile if these malls happen to be among those that you frequently visit—whether it’s during your leisure time or because it’s a place conveniently near your home or office. Also, if you become a premium member, you can earn 2x the rewards on your spend and other privileges.

Another thing to note is that you might occasionally get a free S$5 voucher by joining through a referral. That’s one of the methods they occasionally adopt to acquire more customers. To redeem points, scan and upload receipt(s) in-app within seven days from the date of purchase.

 

Minimum spend in a single receipt to earn rewards: S$10

Earn rate: 

• Basic Member – Earn 10 Lendlease Plus$ (2 Lendlease Plus$ for supermarket purchases) with every S$1 spent

• Premium Member – Spend S$8,000 within 12 months at Lendlease malls to get promoted to Premium Tier to earn 2x the Lendlease Plus$ for every $1 spent. 

Rewards: Redeem Lendlease Gift Vouchers with your Lendlease Plus$. 

• 10,000 Lendlease Plus$ = S$5 Lendlease Gift Voucher 

Parking perks: Redeem Lendlease Plus$ to offset carpark charges. 

• 2,000 Lendlease Plus$ = $1 Park PLUS$

6. ShopFarEast (SFE) Rewards

The most noteworthy feature about SFE’s programme is that it might be the most generous when it comes to getting those S$5 vouchers. All you need is a total spend of S$500— that’s unlike the other three, which require a higher starting point of S$1,000. It might not seem much, but these little things add up in the long run. If vouchers are what you place most emphasis on, then SFE might be your best bet. 

Many of their listed malls in Singapore may be on the less flashy side—a lot of them are smaller malls located around various neighbourhoods or workplaces, such as Katong V and Hougang 1. The good thing is you can earn points when grocery shopping, like at Don Don Don Ki @ Orchard Central. 

That said, what they lack in third-party partnerships, they make up for staycations. You can redeem points for stays at Far East Hospitality properties such as Oasia Hotel or The Barracks at Sentosa. To redeem points, scan and upload receipt(s)in-app within 24 hours of the time of purchase.

Earn rate: Earn 1 SFE$ with every S$1 spent (S$3 for supermarket purchases)

Rewards: Redeem SFE$ for a range of exclusive rewards and privileges available on the shopFarEast app. 

• 500 SFE$ = S$5 Far East Malls e-Voucher 

• 900 SFE$ = S$10 Far East Malls e-Voucher 

• 4,200 SFE$ = S$50 Far East Malls e-Voucher 

Parking perks: Redeem SFE$ to offset parking charges at selected malls.
