1. Hub & Spoke

Some say “East side, best side”, and that could very well be true courtesy of the many offerings around Changi Airport Singapore – Hub and Spoke cafe included. Located near Terminal 2, the cafe has floor to ceiling glass windows that make it appear like a glasshouse restaurant with plenty of natural sunlight streaming in.

It’s situated right next to an open field, where pets or kids can roam around while the adults dine, making this one of the best pet-friendly cafes you can find in Singapore too! Besides accommodating outdoor seating, the Hub and Spoke is also suitable for events and even cosy weddings. Another perk of the cafe location is how it’s part of the Changi Airport Connector route, which means cyclists can make it a pit stop to take a breather and fuel up before they put on their cycling gear and carry on for the rest of the journey. There’s even shower facilities and bicycle parking provided!

Menu-wise, expect classic cafe food offerings like Salmon Benedict (S$11.90), Truffle Crab Roll (S$19.90) and a refreshing cup of Brown Sugar Milk Tea (S$3.90).

2. Corner House

There are gardens, and then there is the Singapore Botanic Gardens – an iconic landmark in our country’s rich, cultural history. And in the thick of it all, you can dine at Corner House, a One-Michelin star restaurant set in a double- storey colonial building, that features both indoor and outdoor seating.

Take a seat at the outdoor deck and be surrounded by tall, towering trees by your side – a setting that will take your experience to be one with nature. On the menu is an array of French-Asian fusion cuisine, with dishes that regularly change, and revolve according to the seasons so no repeat visit is ever quite the same.

Besides the standard a la carte menu, diners can also try an omakase style dining experience from S$128 for a four-course lunch, and pair their meal with the finest selection of wine from all over the world.

3. Mylo’s

While you get a healthy amount of Vitamin D for being outdoors, there’s no denying that Singapore can get just too hot for our liking at times. That’s where cafes like Mylo’s come to our rescue – it provides shelter, air-con and gelato all-in-one.

Located within Gardens by the Bay, right next to the Active Garden, the casual hipster cafe has indoor and outdoor seating you can relax at while still admiring the serenity of the gardens just at its doorstep. Food here leans towards lighter bites, with pastries (S$6), tarts (S$11) and gelato (S$5 for a single scoop). Or have a cuppa to-go – classic options range from Macchiato (S$5) and Latte (S$6) to a Mocha (S$7). 

Since the Active Garden is adjacent, kids can explore the fitness corner and musical playground under supervision while the adults take a breather. Oh, and did we mention that it’s pet-friendly too? That means your fur buddy can join in the fun!

4. Canopy Bishan

Brunch is made even better at Canopy Bishan, located within Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. Boasting a canopy roof and green decor at every turn, especially around the alfresco dining area, the cafe is a picturesque spot for weekend catch ups with the besties, a family meal, or even as a pit stop during your dog walk since it’s also pet-friendly.

Their menu will surely satisfy any cravings you might have, with options of pizza, pasta and burgers. Their Black Angus Cheeseburger (S$23) includes a whopping list of goodness like fries, onion marmalade and truffle mayonnaise, while the Pan-Seared Norwegian Salmon (S$24) includes mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables served with white dill sauce. Those looking to be more environmentally-conscious can opt for the Impossible Burger (S$23 ) that has a vegan patty alongside arugula, tomato, truffle mayonnaise and fries.

Adults can also indulge in some bubbly during Happy Hour on weekdays from 12:00pm to 8:00pm, and there are also liquor and house pours to cheers with friends into nightfall.

5. The Secret Garden by Zeekri

If you’re looking for halal food in Singapore and an Instagram-worthy cafe, look no further than The Secret Garden by Zeekri. French-inspired and Muslim-owned, the floral-themed cafe will likely catch your eye with its bouquets of colourful blooms at their entrance. 

Opened by Ms Fauziah Tranchand who lived in France for a few years, her goal is to provide the masses accessibility to authentic French food. So you can expect scrumptious French dishes like the French Onion Soup (S$14) that is served with turkey bacon and mozzarella cheese croutons, Prawn and Scallop Tagliatelle (S$26) and Chicken Cordon Bleu (S$28). 

High Tea options are also available on the weekends, and they even have an in-house florist that can assist with floral arrangements that guests can take home. Fellas can consider this cafe for a first date to make a good impression of your taste in food and flowers.

6. Hortus

Previously known as Pollen, Hortus is Singapore’s all-new dining experience within the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay. Its indoor restaurant setting means that you still get to enjoy the comfort of air conditioning, while still getting to admire lush foliage that surrounds you while you dine. 

Whether it’s brunch, afternoon tea or dinner, the restaurant will tuck you in with Mediterranean sharing platters, delicious mains and fresh desserts. A peek at its menu reveals the likes of Baba Ghanoush, a fire roasted eggplant dip (S$11), Fremantle octopus with green harissa sauce (S$32) and Ox tripe and cuttlefish gratin with garlic bread (S$32).

Alternatively, settle in from 3:00pm to enjoy its Afternoon Tea menu (S$55 per person) that is filled with savoury, sweet and vegetarian bite-sized treats.

7. The Summerhouse

Chances are you’ve seen these igloo-like garden domes on Instagram, and were always curious to dine in one yourself. Well, you can do so at The Summerhouse. Each dome seats up to eight pax, making it a perfect idea for a cosy celebration – be it a birthday or bridal party.

Thankfully, the dome is air-conditioned, which means you can dine comfortably while still admiring the greenery around. Its Garden Dining Menu starts at S$380 per couple and $125 for each additional guest, and includes food selections like Pan-Seared Foie Gras, Potato Leek Soup and Smoke Chocolate Parfait. Its Prestige Dining Menu is pricier from S$499 per couple and S$168 for additional guests, since it has next-level options like Home-smoked Wagyu Ribeye and Kaffir Lime Mousse.
