The Singapore passport has emerged top in the Henley Passport Index as of 23 July 2024, outperforming France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain, all of which shared the top spot with Singapore last year.

The Henley Passport Index rankings are mainly based on the number of countries a passport holder can have access to without a visa, or if passport holders can obtain a visa upon arrival at the destination.

So, how many countries can be entered without a visa using a Singapore passport? Singapore topped the 199-passport leaderboard with visa-free access to 195 out of 227 travel destinations, while France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain all came in second with 192 visa-free destinations. This means that Singapore citizens do not need to concern themselves with the hassle of visa applications to most countries.
