Hainan Airlines has launched new flights between Singapore Changi Airport and two Chinese cities: Lanzhou and Yichang. With Changi Airport connected to more than 30 cities in China, these additions connect travellers to even more cities in China, offering travellers more options for both leisure and business.
The return of flights to Lanzhou that commences on 2 January 2025 re-establishes the link between Singapore and the capital city of northwest China’s Gansu province. Meanwhile, flights to Yichang from 3 January 2025 will introduce travellers to a new destination in western Hubei province.
Both new flights will make a brief stop at Haikou Meilan International Airport in Hainan before continuing to their final destinations.
Lanzhou – gateway to historic Silk Road
Lanzhou is a bustling city nestled along the banks of the Yellow River in northwest China. Travellers will be able to catch a glimpse of the rich cultural heritage of the historic Silk Road as it serves as a gateway to the ancient trade route. The Gansu Provincial Museum is a must-visit, as it showcases a wide range of artifacts from the Silk Road era.
The capital city of Gansu province is also renowned for its stunning natural landscapes, including mountains of the Qilian range and the awe-inspiring Binggou Canyon (Binggou Danxia). For breathtaking views of the city, the iconic Zhongshan Bridge that spans the Yellow River is a popular photo spot.
Yichang – visit the Three Gorges
Yichang in western Hubei province will be Changi Airport’s latest and newest link to China. The captivating city has a unique blend of history and modernity, featuring ancient temples and pagodas alongside vibrant markets, bustling streets, and a thriving cultural scene. The vibrant arts scene with traditional opera performances and lively festivals has captivated visitors from China and around the world. No visit to Yichang is complete without a cruise through the Three Gorges, where you will see towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls, making it an unforgettable experience.
