If you are looking for a quick getaway from Singapore, here are Changi Airport’s newest connections operated by Scoot that you should take note of.

Starting 20 December 2024, you can jet off to the stunning island of Phu Quoc in Vietnam without a connecting flight. From 6 January 2025, you will also be able to explore the cultural richness of Padang, Indonesia via a direct flight. And for those looking to fly a bit further, you will be able to discover the historic charm of Shantou in China with Scoot’s new flights from 16 January 2025.

Phu Quoc and Padang are destinations that will be connected to Changi Airport for the first time, and flights will be operated on the fuel-efficient Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. Flights to Shantou will be deployed on the Airbus A320 family aircraft.

Pack your sun caps and tote bags because the first destination on our list is Phu Quoc! This tranquil island in Vietnam is perfect for a relaxing beach retreat, where you can unwind on pristine beaches, indulge in rejuvenating spa treatments, and savour fresh seafood. This popular island destination was recently ranked second among the top 10 islands in Asia in the 2024 Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards.

Phu Quoc has also become a popular destination for international travellers due to its 30-day visa-free policy, making it the only destination in Vietnam with this convenient access. Scoot will operate three weekly flights from Changi Airport to Phu Quoc from 20 December 2024, and will add two more flights weekly from 25 January 2025.

Most well-known among Singapore residents for its delicious Padang cuisine (Nasi Padang), Padang is the capital city of West Sumatra. The vibrant city offers a rich glimpse into the Minangkabau culture and stunning beaches for surfing. With Scoot’s four times weekly flights from 6 January 2025, Padang is a hidden gem in Indonesia just waiting to be explored.

Shantou, a coastal city in Guangdong, China, offers a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Delve into the city's rich history at the Zhongshan Memorial Pavilion in Shantou Small Park where you can see the memorial hall of Dr Sun Yat-sen – a cultural landmark of the city. For a serene escape, visit the picturesque Nan Ao Island, known for its pristine beaches and stunning coastal scenery. Scoot will fly thrice weekly to Shantou from 16 January 2025.

On top of these new destinations, Scoot will also be increasing its flights to some of its popular destinations, including Jakarta in Indonesia, Koh Samui in Thailand, Davao in the Philippines, and Laos capital Vientiane. This expands Scoot’s and Changi Airport’s network and connectivity in the region, offering more travel options to passengers.

The launch of these new routes by Scoot is in addition to its announcement in August 2024 on its new flights to Malacca and Subang in Malaysia and Kertajati in Indonesia.
