Big malls, vibrant nightlife, interesting museums and parks, Singapore has all the attractions you’d look forward to when visiting a city. While sight-seeing in Singapore can be incredibly beautiful, with many places to pique your curiosity, there’s more to Singapore than just Orchard Road, Marina Bay Sands, and Gardens by the Bay. Cue this list of interesting activities to do that’s bound to send you on an adventure you will not regret. From kayak fishing to theatrical dining, we have rounded up six experiential activities that will show you a different side of Singapore.
1. Get hurled into the air with G-MAX reverse bungy
Declaring itself as Singapore’s first reverse bungee jump ride, this activity is not for the faint-hearted. The G-MAX Reverse Bungy springs thrill-seekers up to 60 meters high then bounces them for about seven times (like a yo-yo!) at 200 km/h before settling them back down. As the ride is located at the heart of Clarke Quay, by the Singapore River, we highly recommend keeping your eyes open for a glittering view of the city skyline. If you want to replay and relive your wildest holiday moment over and over again, you can also take home a video made available at the counter after your ride.
Price: From $45 per person
Location: G-MAX Reverse Bungy, 3E River Valley Rd, Singapore 179024
Opening Hours: Daily, 2:00pm – 1:00am
2. Soar, tumble and free fall with an indoor skydiving experience at iFly
Not quite ready to be recoiled to a giddying height? Warm up with an indoor skydiving experience instead. Feel the rush of high-speed wind and experience true free-fall conditions, similar to a real skydive at iFly Singapore. Experts will teach you the basics, coupled with safety measures then set you free in the wind tunnel where you will learn how to maneuver forwards, backwards, sideways and more - all in a day! If one skydive is not enough, go for The Challenge package which comes with two skydive opportunities!
Price: From $89 per person (ages 7 and up)
Location: iFly Singapore, 43 Siloso Beach Walk #01-01 Singapore 099010
Opening Hours: Mon, Tue, & Thu – Sun: 9:00am to 9:30pm, Wed: 11:00am to 9:30pm
3. Grab a surfboard and make a splash at Wave House Sentosa
If you’re already at Sentosa Island, head to Wave House Sentosa for some indoor surfing action. While the waves are released in a contained environment, it is by no means an easy activity! With water gushing out as fast as 32km/h, mastering how to shift your body weight and trying to stay on the board as long as possible makes it a sport of its own. Once you’re all wave-ed out, you can wind down over a delicious meal at the establishment’s restaurant.
Price: From $35 per person
Duration: 1-hour, 2-hour or 3-hour slots
Location: Wave House Sentosa, 36 Siloso Beach Walk, 099007
Opening Hours: Mon – Fri: 12pm to 9pm, Weekends and Public Holidays: 11am to 9pm
4. Lose yourself at ANDSOFORTH’s immersive dinner theatre
Your must-eat list when in Singapore probably includes a string of local food joints and a couple of Michelin-starred restaurants. How about taking that dining experience up a notch with an unforgettable, out-of-the-box live entertainment? Enter ANDSOFORTH, a series of pop-up theatrical gastronomical events where food and art collide. Unlike a restaurant where one casually dines as a performance is being carried out, at ANDSOFORTH, diners become part of the play! Guests are involved in every scene as the courses slowly make their way to the tables. A new theme and menu are introduced every month to keep audience excited, and the location to the pop-up is only revealed on the day in a form of a riddle. Curious yet?
Price: From $128 per person (ages 18 and up)
Opening Hours: Selected Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30pm onwards
5. Get wildly acquainted with Chinese folklore at Haw Par Villa
While the main museums in Singapore do shed light on south-east Asian history, for folks interested in learning more about the Chinese folklore, legend and mythology, Haw Par Villa Asian cultural park digs deep into that area. Step inside and you’ll find a rather bizarre yet fascinating collection of sculptures and dioramas. Some of which are completely random like the beaming mermaids, while others have a certain cultural significance – like the colourful display at the Vices and Virtues area. Visitors to the park can opt for a guided tour with highlights including an insight to classic Chinese literature, Journey to the West, and vivid depictions of the Ten Courts of Hell from Chinese folklore.
Price: Free. With an hour tour priced at $10 per person.
Location: Haw Par Villa 262 Pasir Panjang Road, Singapore 118628
Opening Hours: Daily, 9:00am to 9:30am
6. Go fish! Kayak angling tours for all ages with Kayak Fever Fishing

Kayak Fever Fishing has tours which allows you to paddle up mid-sea in a kayak to reel in parrot fishes, groupers, snappers and more. Riders have to be at least 18 but the kids can buddy up with the adults, perfect for some parent-child bonding time. Kayak Fever Fishing also supports sustainable fishing by practising catch and release to protect the country’s marine life.
