Learn Ninjutsu – way of the Ninja

Besides stress relief, Ninjutsu also serves as a form of self-defence. Photo credit: Singapore Ninjutsu Facebook Page

Practising martial arts is a great way to relieve stress. If you are still undecided on which martial arts to choose from, why not try out Ninjutsu – the martial arts of Japanese ninjas?

Think of a ninja, and the image conjured is a mysterious figure with purported abilities to walk on water and remain invisible in the face of their enemies. While modern day ninjutsu won’t be teaching you these “superhuman powers”, you’ll get to learn some pretty cool self-defence skills.

You will learn unarmed combat skills, wield swords, and throw “ninja stars” – round wheel-like blades with razor sharp edges. The ones you use for practice are made of wood and rubber.

Children and adult programmes are available at Singapore Ninjutsu martial arts school. For the full class schedule, do head over to their website for more information.

Hit a home run at an indoor baseball batting cage

Homerun Baseball

A post shared by mengchin (@mengchin) on

Hearing the crack of the bat when it hits the sweet spot on a baseball can be most gratifying. However, baseball is quite an under-the-radar sport in Singapore, so most people don’t get the opportunity to play it, unless you join a sports team. At Homerun Baseball indoor batting cage, you can enjoy the fun of batting whenever you feel like it, with the bonus of not having to sweat under the sun.

Besides being a great stress reliever at the end of a long day, you also get a good arm and core workout from swinging the bat. 5 game tokens cost $20; for each token you get to bat 15 balls. Discount rates for members and students are available.
