It’s no secret that Singapore is also positioning itself as an urban wellness haven. Organised by Singapore Tourism Board, the Wellness Festival Singapore (WFS) is a 10-day line-up of virtual and physical wellness activities and experiences that promotes holistic wellbeing, including spin, fitness, and even taichi classes. Here’s a list of wellness activities to check out in Changi Precinct.

1. Art Therapy for a Good Cause

Enjoy a hands-on batik painting session with special needs artists from Arts@Metta.

Try your hand at batik painting, one of the many therapeutic art forms that stimulates the creative mind while relieving mental strain. While doing that, you get to interact with special needs youths from Arts@Metta, an initiative by Metta Welfare Association to provide graduates from Metta School access to training and employment opportunities.  

Besides bringing home your creation from this hands-on batik painting experience, you will also be creating awareness and promoting inclusivity for the youths. What’s more, 100% of the proceeds will go to Metta Welfare Association to support their work.

2. Yoga Nidra

Refresh and rejuvenate with a session of sleep meditation.

Led by Youmin, Singapore's pioneer "Daring to Rest" yoga nidra facilitator, this yoga session will be conducted through wireless headsets at Changi Airport's Hub & Spoke, where participants will go through a restful sleep meditation session with audio insulation and freedom. Fret not if you’re not as flexible as you’d like to be as there are no yoga poses involved! By simply lying in the shavasana pose, the 45-minute yoga nidra session will feel like a 3-hour nap, allowing you to feel refreshed and rejuvenated after the session.

3. Forest Bathing

Specially curated for the luscious Shiseido Forest Valley, this is the first-ever indoor forest bathing experience. Forest bathing is a way to effortlessly slow down, rest and attend to all the richness of the earth hidden beneath our busy day-to-day lives. It is the act of connecting to nature and everything around us, and in the process, reconnecting with the inner self. By getting in touch with nature again, you will experience a greater sense of awe, pleasure and belonging. Not only does it help improve mental health, it will also gives you a much-needed emotional uplifting.

4. Mindful and sensory exploration of herbs & edible flowers

Alternatively, go on a sensory journey of herbal blending. You will explore a creative and sensory way of tea blending by tapping on the moods evoked by the herbs and edible flowers in this workshop. This 75-minute workshop comes with a kit comprising assorted edible flowers and herbs and tools necessary for the workshop.

5. Laguna Wellness Day at Dusit Thani

Indulge in a full-day wellness programme or learn how to whip up healthy Thai dishes at Dusit Thani Laguna.

Organised by Dusit Thani Laguna, the Laguna Wellness Day on 12 June 2022 is dedicated to celebrating a lifestyle of wellness. Participants can look forward to a whole day of wellness activities and programmes that span fitness, retail and leisure therapy. The activities are lined up from 9.00am to 7.00pm and includes cardio kickboxing, meditation, and sunset yoga.

You may also wish to sign up for the Thai Healthy Cooking Class at Dusit Thani. Get hands on and learn to prepare two healthy Thai dishes in a step-by-step cooking class led by Dusit Thani's own Greenhouse Thai Chef. Enjoy the dishes that you have whipped up with a dessert and a drink of your choice at the end of the class.

6. Wellness Meals

Those who are interested in the programmes at Hub & Spoke may also wish to try out their specially-curated Wellness menu that consists of a Hearty Risotto Funghi and a Triberry Smoothie. To add on to the atmosphere, 3-piece live band Jarvis will also be performing over the festival weekends on 4, 5, 11 and 12 June from 6pm onwards.
