Changi Airport welcomed China Eastern Airlines’ inaugural flight from Taiyuan Wusu International Airport in Shanxi Province of China to Singapore (via Sanya) on 24 September 2024. This marks the return of flights between Taiyuan and Singapore after a 12-year hiatus. 

Taiyuan, China is Changi Airport’s newest city link.

The thrice-weekly service connects Singapore Changi Airport to the capital of Shanxi Province. Often overshadowed by its more famous counterparts, Taiyuan offers travellers a unique blend of ancient history, cultural heritage, and natural beauty. For those who enjoy a scenic journey, Wutai Mountain, one of China’s five sacred Buddhist mountains, is located north of Taiyuan. China Eastern Airlines will fly between Taiyuan and Singapore every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. It departs from Taiyuan Wusu International Airport at 6:55am and makes a brief stop at Sanya Phoenix International Airport before arriving in Changi Airport at 2:50pm. The flight will depart Changi Airport at 3:50pm and arrive at Taiyuan (via Sanya) at 11:50pm.
